October 20: 10:00 am - 11:15 am£7.50
A personal look at the place of poetry in the theatre. Pamela Williams will offer a view of the role of poetry in theatre from its earliest origins in Greek theatre through Shakespeare and verse dramas to the present day. The presentation will include contributions from a group of actors and will explore how modern physical theatre creates its own stage metaphors and poetry through non-verbal means.
Pamela was Head of the Creative Arts Faculty in a comprehensive school in Hertfordshire. She also worked as an Advisory Teacher for Drama and a drama examiner for GCSE and A-level Drama and Theatre Studies. She was married to the poet, Rik Wilkinson.
